Woof, Woof!

We had another busy, but very nice weekend this past weekend. Jarrett spent a lot of time working on the shelving unit for Elsa's room, while I did a lot of cooking (chili, cornbread, Paula Deen's goulash) and laundry, and then we caught the tailend of the Saturday hours at the Avondale AutumnFest, which is one of our favorite arts and crafts festivals we try to make it to every year.

On Sunday, we started the morning off with church, which was then followed by the first of the church's monthly potlucks (to which I brought the goulash). We all took naps when we got home, and as soon as Elsa woke up, I hurriedly got her in her Halloween costume and we took off to catch, yet again, the tailend of the Goblins in the Garden event at the Atlanta Botanical Garden. Because we got there with only an hour to spare, we missed out on the train ride and the pony rides and the costume parade, and most all of the other events going on, but we did at least get to see the little train making its rounds on the great lawn. And we had a good time seeing all of the other little ones in their costumes, enjoying the current scarecrow exhibit, and, of course, letting Elsa run around the children's garden.

And, don't worry -- we didn't completely deprive her of a train ride. The Garden has a holiday train that runs throughout November and December, so she will have her chance.

As my dad pointed out, thank goodness we don't have one hundred more of these running around our house!

And because the chocolate exhibit is still going on at the Garden, Elsa got her much-anticipated piece of chocolate at the end of our visit. (She will be devastated when the chocolate samples come to an end!)
