Touch-A-Truck Day

Last Saturday was Touch-A-Truck Day here in Decatur, which is a fabulous event the City of Decatur puts on every year at absolutely no cost to its attendees. This is the first year we went, and probably the first year Elsa would have appreciated it anyway. There were fire trucks, a police car, motorcycles, a dump truck, tractors... the list goes on. Elsa's daddy was quite smitten with the ambulance, and turned into a kid himself while traipsing through it. Elsa's favorite ended up being the police car, no doubt in thanks to her Uncle Billy, who took her to see the police cars at the police station where he works the last time she stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. Sadly, our camera battery decided to die just as she discovered it the first time. And we visited the car about four times in total. Her favorite seat was the front passenger seat, as she had easy access to the computer keyboard.

Many of the kids found it fun to honk the horns of the various vehicles, some of which were quite loud and obnoxious. This bothered many of the smaller children, and of course Elsa had her fingers in her ears for the majority of the time.

After our truck-exploring adventure, we ran into our friends, Atticus and Alison, and their two boys, Finnan and Jude, all on our way to the same destination -- The Yogurt Tap. So we all enjoyed some delicious frozen yogurt together, as well as the walk home.
