The Tour Championship

Today's plans were totally shot, but in a good way. We had decided we were going to make a trip to the mall after church (Jarrett has to buy a couple of iPods for a company "fun event," so we were going to take advantage of having a couple of extra around the house... it's a hard life, I know), were going to go to the Y to work out, and take care of some stuff around the house. Well, our friend and leader of our Community Group, Matt, ended up having a couple of extra tickets to the PGA Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club, so we ended up spending the entire afternoon watching golf. Now I'm not known as the world's biggest golf fan, but I ended up being the one to say Jarrett and I should stay behind and watch the remaining golfers when Matt and Stacey decided it was time they head out. We claimed pretty good seats in the bleachers at the 18th hole, and were able to see all 30 participants come through. Of course, the finale was watching Tiger Woods, who completely squashed the competition -- surprise, surprise. Anyway, it was a fun time.

What else did we do this weekend... we had dinner at Crescent Moon with our friends, Atticus, Alison, Shelly, and David on Friday night. Jarrett and I went for a walk with Merckx on Saturday morning, put together a slew of meals at Super Suppers, and went to the Not for Sale program at church in the evening. It was not the most uplifting of activities for a Saturday evening, but we turned it into a fun night by having our friends, Sean and Jenny, over for dinner and drinks on the back deck. It's been a busy, but enjoyable weekend -- one of those weekends where it seems a lot is accomplished, but the house remains a complete wreck. Oh well.

Best of all, the weather has been incredibly pleasant. Merckx would prefer he just stay outside as long as the cool air sticks around.
