We did end up celebrating Elsa's half-birthday, a couple of days late, while at my parents' house last week. On Friday afternoon, we made a trip out to lunch and to do a little shopping, and ended up stopping by The Fresh Market. The sweets in the baked goods case looked rather divine, so I allowed Elsa to choose one thing from the case to enjoy that night after dinner. After a little contemplation and mind changing, she ended up with a chocolate eclair.
After dinner, I placed the eclair on a plate, complete with a tea light set in front of it so she could also have the joy of blowing out a candle (we couldn't find a birthday candle). I took a bazillion photos of her eating this thing, as she was just too funny. She hardly made a dent in it, and mostly enjoyed the dollop of whipped cream (including licking it off the cherry, but not eating the cherry itself) and the chocolate frosting on top. She savored every bite. Just look at her. Over and over again, "Mmm... this is deee-licious!"

So cute! If only our kids could be eating chocolate eclairs 24-7 they would be SO EASY and fun!
