More Zoo Fun

Elsa and I went to the zoo again with Kate and James on Monday afternoon. The weather was awesome (unlike what we have been experiencing these past few days with all of the rain), and it was so nice to just be outside, strolling around.

This was Elsa's second visit to the petting zoo, but the first visit since she started walking on her own. She had fun petting some of the animals... and running around and watching the train go by. James seemed envious to not be able to take part in all of the farmyard chaos, but we assured him that his time will come soon enough.

Elsa also enjoyed the gorilla statue (even more than the live one that was sitting very close to us). You can see her signing "monkey" here and then running in an attempt to careen off of the stairs.

Elsa was most interested in what seems to be one of her favorite animals -- the lion. It was the only animal she watched with much intent at all (although the panda bears received a little attention too). We lucked out, as this was the first time we have been able to see the lion up close at all. He seemed to very much desire to get to something that was behind that wall and, thus, kept pacing back and forth near the viewing window. Elsa waved and said goodbye to the lion over and over... and has been doing so for days now (waving and saying "g'bye, g'bye, g'bye" and then signing and saying "liiioh"). Too cute.
