Jarrett's youngest brother, Jonathan, and Jonathan's new wife, Michelle, arrived at our house last night in time to share a yummy dinner with us. They were married on March 18, and have been driving across the country the past few days to finally move Michelle from her previous Air Force base in Arizona to where Jonathan has been stationed in Langley, Virgina. They have had quite the adventure, with a car wreck christening their trip, an oversized trailer hitched to a, thus, sluggish car, along with a stomach bug that has plagued Jonathan for several days and even sent him to the emergency room along the way. Their days have been filled with many hours of driving, and stops to simply sleep. So it was nice to spend some time with them yesterday evening, relaxing over a delicious dish Jarrett made with gluten-free gnocchi, cabbage, pork belly, onions, and rosemary.
We did not get to see them long, as they hit the road this morning bound for High Point to visit more family overnight, and then head on to their apartment in Virginia tomorrow. Elsa was able to spend some time with them this morning, which was nice. It was sad that the visit was so short, but I am sure these newlyweds will be happy to finally settle down and start their new life together. We hope to see them again soon!
