In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love. -- Mother Teresa

Elsa's Treehouse

Elsa is learning to share these days. This is a tough lesson for such a little one, but she is slowly but surely getting the hang of it. Today we visited the Atlanta Botanical Garden with Kate, James, and Kate's sister, Krista, and despite the heat, we all had a nice time strolling around, especially since it was Kate's and Krista's first visit. After we bored Elsa with all of the things us adults wanted to see, we finally made it over to the Children's Garden, and she had a hayday -- as usual -- running through the tunnels, kissing the frog statues, beating drums, ringing bells, "riding" chickens (not real ones, mind you), going down slides, playing in the water, and climbing stairs. Especially climbing stairs. In fact, she was getting highly aggravated if any other child started climbing or descending the stairs at the same time as she. She also proclaimed the treehouse, "Elsa's Treehouse!" After I reminded her that we need to share these things, she calmed down some and would continue to remind herself: "Share stairs." "Share treehouse." That's all she needs -- just a little reminding. And a lot of patience on my end.

She was so excited about getting in the water today, that I did not even try to wrangle her long enough to get her swimsuit on. It was just a string bean in a swim diaper today, and she had a blast.
